PETALING JAYA, Oct 8 — Women have been urged to think clearly when making decisions about their personal lives and career choices, while developing diverse skills to keep pace with rapid technological advancement and the changing environment.
The call was made during a special engagement session held for female MBA students aged between 18 and 23 from M.O.P. Vaishnav College in Chennai, India.

The programme was organised to provide the students with experiences and advice on various aspects of women’s lives, education, career opportunities and future plans, said its organising committee coordinator and Bukit Gasing MIC branch chairman Dato’ Geethanjali G.
The event was organised by the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) Bukit Gasing branch, with support from several organisations, including the Malaysian Indian Youth Council.

Producer and television newsreader Shalini Priyamohan, as well as Professor Dr Chandramathi, head of the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, were among the special speakers who shared their experiences and views with the students.
Speaking at the event, Dato’ Geethanjali said young women should give importance not only to education and economic advancement when choosing their career paths, but also to personal character, personality and work-life balance.
She said life in the past had more room for people to pause, reflect and understand situations, but that space had diminished due to technological advancement, social media and today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
“Therefore, young women need to think clearly about their future, choose education and careers that suit them, and continuously improve themselves in line with changing circumstances.
“Success should not be measured by career achievements alone. It is important to combine good character, personality and financial independence while building a meaningful life.
“The main objective of this programme is to encourage women not to limit themselves to a single field, but to develop diverse skills and become more versatile individuals,” she said.
