Young Digital Content Creators Explore Opportunities at Townhall Session

Petaling Jaya, 21 December 2024 – The Malaysian Artists Association (KARYAWAN), in collaboration with FINAS, hosted the Young Digital Content Creators Townhall Session at FINAS Petaling Jaya.

The event was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Kamil Othman, Chairman of FINAS, and spearheaded by YBhg. Dato’ Freddie Fernandez, President of KARYAWAN, as part of their commitment to empowering young talents in Malaysia’s creative industry.

The townhall served as a platform for young content creators to discuss challenges, explore opportunities, and gain insights into the latest trends shaping the creative landscape.

Participants were introduced to the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), social media platforms, and innovative digital tools for content creation and income generation.

YBhg. Dato’ Freddie Fernandez, who also moderated the session on the Music and Audio Industry, highlighted the importance of embracing technological advancements, stating,

“Our young creators are the future of Malaysia’s creative industry. Through collaboration, innovation, and the right tools, they can unlock limitless potential in this digital era.”

The program featured three interactive segments:

Music and Audio Industry – Moderated by YBhg. Dato’ Freddie Fernandez, this segment explored the impact of Al and digital platforms on music creation and distribution.

Film Industry – Panelists shared insights on how technology is revolutionizing
filmmaking and production processes.
Social Media Content Creation – Discussions centered on strategies for leveraging platforms to establish careers in the digital space.

The event saw active participation from 40 young creators eager to learn about innovative ways to generate income, particularly through minimal-capital models.

The session also emphasized
the need for adaptability in a rapidly evolving digital world.

Also present were YBhg. Dato’ Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, CEO of FINAS, along with panel experts and media representatives. The townhall reflects the shared vision of FINAS and KARYAWAN to nurture young talent, support innovation, and strengthen Malaysia’s creative economy.
