PALM BIOMASS TAKES CENTER STAGE — AFRICAN & ASIA-PACIFIC NATIONS JOIN GLOBAL CONFERENCE IN KUALA LUMPUR

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 April 2025 — Kuala Lumpur is once again in the spotlight as more than 300 participants from across the globe, including Nigeria and several Asia-Pacific countries, gather for the 5th International Palm Biomass Conference, held over two days at Berjaya Hotel Resort.

Carrying the theme “Unlocking the Wealth Potential of Palm Biomass”, this year’s conference introduces a fresh, interactive format—moving away from traditional paper presentations and embracing a series of dynamic panel discussions. These sessions dive into critical topics such as turning undervalued resources into wealth, circular economy strategies, and sustainable innovation in the palm oil industry.

Over 25 carefully selected keynote speakers and panelists, including industry leaders, consultants, tech developers, and regulators, are expected to ignite meaningful conversations on value creation through palm biomass.
Organized by the Malaysian Exporters Academy, the conference serves as a global platform for knowledge exchange, strategic networking, and collaboration in the biomass sector, especially in the context of a sustainable bioeconomy.
In a keynote speech delivered by Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Chang Foong Hin, on behalf of YB Minister Dato Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, it was emphasized that:
“Palm biomass holds vast potential for both economic and environmental gain. This conference highlights innovative pathways to unlock that value—promoting sustainability while creating new income streams for the industry.”
The conference also explores investment opportunities, commercialization strategies, and public-private partnerships, aiming to turn industrial waste into drivers of a green, future-ready economy.
