blockbusters, Cold War 1994, has officially been confirmed for a nationwide theatrical release in
Malaysia on May 1.
Marking the long-awaited return of the acclaimed Cold War franchise after a decade, the film has
already emerged as one of the most closely watched titles among audiences and within the
industry. As the third instalment in the series and a prequel Cold War 1994 is directed by Longman
Leung, and promises to trace the origins of the larger Cold War saga on an even more ambitious
scale.

Over the years, the Cold War films have carved out a distinctive place in Chinese-language cinema
through their tense pacing, layered character dynamics, and high-stakes battles for power. With
Cold War 1994, the franchise opens a compelling new chapter that not only preserves its signature
tone of tension and intrigue, but also expands its scope with a richer and more multi-dimensional
narrative.

ambition. As old cases are reopened and hidden forces gradually come to light, the conflict
intensifies and the storm at the centre of the story begins to unfold in full. Audiences can expect
the familiar edge and suspense that define the Cold War name, while being drawn into a broader
and more intricate web of conspiracies than ever before.

Cold War universe including Chow Yun-fat, Aaron Kwok, and Tony Leung Ka-fai, the film also
features a special appearance by Louis Koo. Joining the ensemble are acclaimed actors Daniel Wu,
Terrance Lau, Wu Kang-ren, Tse Kwan-ho, Louise Wong, and Fish Liew, making Cold War 1994 one
of the most talked-about Chinese-language productions since the start of its filming.
