MADINAH, 15 April 2025 – Malaysia has reaffirmed its strong commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in efforts to enhance the pilgrimage experience for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims around the world, in line with global aspirations and the spirit of Islamic unity.

Umrah and Ziyarah Forum 2025 held in Madinah.

This was expressed in a speech by Malaysia’s representative, Dato’ Sri Syed Saleh Bin Syed Abdul Rahman, Pengerusi Lembaga Pengarah Syarikat Pelancongan dan Perkhidmatan Lembaga Tabung Haji Malaysia at the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum 2025 held in Madinah. The event was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Al-Madinah Region, along with esteemed guests and industry players from across the globe.

In his address, he extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the organizing committee for bringing together global stakeholders on a strategic platform to exchange ideas, knowledge, and future visions.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not only the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques but also a global leader in transforming the spiritual journey of Muslims worldwide,” he said.

He also acknowledged the remarkable advancements made in infrastructure, digital innovation, and service delivery—including the implementation of platforms like Nusuk, high-speed rail networks, and flexible visa initiatives—which have revolutionized the pilgrimage experience, making it safer, more accessible, and spiritually fulfilling.

He emphasized that these efforts align closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which reflects a comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to hospitality and pilgrimage management.

“Malaysia, through institutions such as Lembaga Tabung Haji, deeply values its longstanding partnership with Saudi Arabia. We have consistently aligned our efforts—from travel logistics to pilgrim welfare—with the evolving Hajj and Umrah ecosystem in the Kingdom,” he said.

He added that this cooperation is not only technical in nature but is also rooted in mutual respect and a shared spiritual commitment.

The Umrah and Ziyarah Forum 2025 was described as an important platform to strengthen synergy among authorities, service providers, scholars, and the broader community. Malaysia remains committed to continued collaboration across various initiatives, including improved health protocols, sustainable infrastructure, and empowering technologies to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.

In closing, he expressed appreciation to all parties involved in making the forum a success and voiced hope that the ongoing cooperation will continue to benefit pilgrims and deepen bilateral ties between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.-UTV Media
